Hola~!Hey guys! Sorry I've neglected updating DA -- for simplicity sake I usually update my Tumblr and Blogspot more often... that, and it can be a bit daunting to update my journal when it's been so long! Haha.
So I've been a busy bee! Been travelling a lot. Work, holidays... it all just blends together. If this year is nuts, next year is gonna be craaaazy! I've been to Hawaii, California, Phoenix, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Ohio, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, and Seattle all in a few short months. I love travelling though, so I enjoy it all. I have been more stressed than usual lately, though. But of course, it's convention season so I get to go out and visit all you peoples in the flesh! Here's my convention schedule

Convention report! Brief yet SatisfyingFirst time going to some of these cons, and it was great. Hung out, ate deliciously unhealthy food, and got rained on in almost all cities. I don't mind the rain, though.
Seattle --
Emerald City Comic Con: Fabulous first time! I was able to hang out with some amazing artists, shared some embarrassing stories, and ate and drank maybe a bit too much. In Seattle I also had my portfolio looked at and reviewed by a bunch of peeps I admire! People such as Bruce Timm, Britney Lee (and a few other Disney artists, too!), and Jim Zub. With their feedback, I hope to have my portfolio up to snuff when I go down to California later this year. Oh, and I was introduced to one of my fellow mentees from last year -- Wendi Chen! Also, I finally got to meet Mike Yamada and

in person -- and then appropriately drank alcohol, bought a ton of stuff from them, and got delivery clam chowder. Also had a memorable night at Five Guy's with some new friends. Mm, Five Guys.
In Toronto --
Toronto Comic Con I followed tradition and bugged

,

and

. Special thanks to James and Chris for bringing us sustenance throughout the con, and keeping us company! Though my phone had an accident and stopped working while we were on this trip. A very bad accident. Thank goodness for Applecare+ and the Eaton Center. Though, I totes went and spoiled myself shopping that weekend.

Then we hopped over to
Vancouver for the west coast
Fan Expo! Love visiting this city. It's just so vibrant and aside from the rain, the weather is so much more appealing than what I'm used to! Our table was right beside my friend =
mind-crash, though I didn't even glance at the floorplan before I got there so I didn't know who was where! We were able to hang out with some artists from Manitoba, including *
ChasingArtwork...and also pig out on Japanese and Italian food while getting rained on along the way. Also got to meet a lot of new fans! So a big thanks to everyone who made a point to come by, and say hullo. Oh! And randomly bumped in to James Marsters.

Then at
Calgary's CCEE, Drake and I went and met Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage! Most amazing moment of the convention, for us. I met them several times that weekend. I know for me, I see so many people that things blur together once in a while! So I was impressed when they remembered my face. WETA was also in attendance and although I didn't pick up any swag, I did enjoy looking at their stuff! Thankfully Drake's sister watched the table for us as we fangirl'd over our two favourite Lannisters. Artist wise, I got to chat briefly with

and

. Also, we took

around the town and made him eat a whole cow worth of beef. Yes. CCEE is always one of my favourite shows.
Ottawa Comic Con was a bit of a disappointment for me because not only did it rain, but I lost a belt! AND got food poisoning! So, I had trouble sleeping because I was busy throwing up. Special thanks to

for manning the table and letting me sleep in to recover on Saturday, even though he ate more of the poisonous seafood than I did. I did see Billy Dee Williams during dinner a few times, though, and also met Nick Brendan again at the bar. I shall never forget the weekend of death... and that accursed calamari.
Lastly,
Otafest was this past weekend! It was super busy and was a great show. Got to chat with friends ~
goatxcore and

, and hang out with

and

and pals for dinner. Also, I ran in to Kirby Morrow while looking around the vendors... I told him he had a great voice! -- should make a career out of it. He was very nice and had a good sense of humour. The weird thing is, I don't ever know if I'm speaking to a voice actor when I'm at a convention, but when I do realize it, it's always uncanny because I try to imagine the face of the 'toon they voice for. xD
Next up, ANIME NORTH! I won't be selling much art if at all, I'll mostly be there to help Drake out. But feel free to come by and say HULLO! It's the last convention we'll be at for a couple months. So after the little convention break, hopefully I'll have a ton of new stuff out for you guys to see! A lot of it will be personal work, but there are a few fandom itches I've been wanting to scratch.
